What's new for 1984:There was a new grille highlighting the exterior. Electronic inside day-night mirror, and a vacuum fluorescent digital instrument cluster were new options. A luxurious Caliente package became available, distinguished by a brushed metal strip above the grille, special side moldings and a unique padded landau top. It also came standard with digital gauges and leather interior with optional lamb's wool shearling inserts available |

| Identifying an '84: '84 and '85 Toronados look much alike with a body colored horizontal bar dividing the grille. However, the grille itself consists of two horizontal bars in each opening for '84 and a crosshatch egg crate pattern for '85. | |||
